Communication
Clear communication is a professional obligation.
We believe clients deserve to understand what is happening in their case, what decisions are being made, and why. Internally, communication means documenting work, sharing information, and raising concerns early. Externally, it means explaining complex legal issues in plain language and keeping commitments about responsiveness.
To better communicate with clients we use 1. Daily time entries that fully explain how we used our time for the clients benefit, 2. Weekly communications with our clients even if it is just to give a brief update and answer questions, and 3. Strategic Case Plans that set out the next four to six weeks of work with estimated costs so our clients know where their cases are heading.
This kind of communication reduces anxiety, improves decision making, and makes us better family advocates.
