LLLT | APR 9 Legal Intern | Future Washington Family Law Attorney (2026)
Empowering Families Through Practical Guidance and Honest Advocacy
Karina A. Gomez has spent her entire adult life working in the law—not because it was easy, but because it mattered.
As a Limited Licensed Legal Technician (LLLT) and APR 9 Legal Intern, Karina is on track to become a fully licensed attorney in Washington by 2026 through the APR 6 Law Clerk program. With over a decade of hands-on legal experience, her one-on-one mentorship with seasoned attorneys has given her the kind of real-world knowledge many law school graduates still have to earn.
“I didn’t grow up knowing how to become an attorney. I grew up knowing how to work. This program gave me a way to do both.”
From the Community, For the Community
The daughter of Mexican immigrants and the first in her family to graduate from college, Karina’s path to the legal profession started early. At 18, she was already working as a paralegal. Shortly after high school, she helped a friend apply for immigration relief—an experience that opened her eyes to how hard it is for people in underserved communities to navigate the legal system without help.
“I’ve seen what happens when people don’t understand the law—and how it can crush you if you don’t know how to work with it.”
That’s what drives her to serve families today: offering real help, not empty promises.
Straightforward Support, Realistic Advice
Karina brings a unique mix of energy, compassion, and candor to her work at Pacific Northwest Family Law. She thrives in court—drawn to the fast-paced nature of family law litigation and the clarity that comes from resolving cases swiftly so clients can move forward.
But she is not here to hype people up or tell them what they want to hear. Clients trust Karina because she gives honest evaluations, grounded in what judges actually look for.
“If someone comes to me asking for full custody, but the other parent has been the primary caregiver, I won’t mislead them. I help them focus on what’s possible—and I fight for that.”
Karina’s practice is rooted in:
- Strategic parenting plans based on real facts—not wishful thinking
- Collaborative goal-setting with clients based on evidence and outcomes
- Clarity and transparency about timelines, costs, and legal process
- Fast-paced litigation support that keeps cases moving and clients informed
She also understands the power of a single conversation. “I’ve seen a client go from despair to hope just from a call,” she says. “That’s why I show up. That’s why I do this.”

Grounded by Faith, Family, and Fierce Work Ethic
Karina is a proud country girl who spends her time off at the family ranch or visiting relatives in Mexico. She’s deeply connected to her roots—drawn to the outdoors, horses, music, and the kind of beauty that makes you pause. “There’s nothing like watching a sunset from the rancho,” she says.
She’s also a passionate dancer—banda, salsa, line dancing—you name it. And when she’s not working or dancing, she’s spending time with her five beloved nieces and nephews (all under the age of seven), who keep her grounded, motivated, and grateful.

Karina wants every client who walks through the door to know they’re seen, supported, and respected.
