We built our practice around the legal needs of families.
Your family’s future reaches beyond the problem in front of you. A divorce shapes how you start over and how your children grow into adults; an adoption establishes lasting family ties; estate planning and probate carry your responsibilities and wishes into the next generation. We bring those needs together through a common purpose: helping you be a hero to your family.
That means helping you make informed decisions, protect the people who depend on you, and face difficult moments with a plan. Our attorneys and legal professionals bring their experience to the work your family needs today, with an eye toward the life you will build afterward. Meet the people who will help you take that next step.
Our Philosophy
Legal decisions can shape family relationships long after the case ends. We help you weigh today’s choices against tomorrow’s consequences, preparing to advocate firmly while recognizing when an agreement serves your interests. Our purpose guides our work across family law, estate planning, and probate.
Firm Values
Communication, Accountability, Professionalism, and Excellence—our CAPE values—guide how we work. They mean explaining our advice, taking responsibility, preparing carefully, and continually improving our craft. These are standards for how we treat clients and how we work together.
Professional Guarantees
You should know what you can count on from your legal team. We commit to preparation, honest advice, purposeful strategy, professional communication, cost transparency, and accountability. Those commitments govern our work; courts, facts, and other people still affect the outcome.

Our Roots in Ashby Law
Our roots reach back to Ashby Law, which began in 2012. The practice adopted the Pacific Northwest Family Law name in 2019 to express its growing focus on families. Today, that purpose connects our work helping people protect their children, rebuild after separation, plan ahead, and carry out a loved one’s wishes.
