When Paige Lucas was a child, she and her brother lost their parents. Their aunt and uncle stepped in, became their guardians, and took responsibility for raising them.
Both worked in the legal profession. They understood the guardianship process and knew how to navigate it. While Paige and her brother faced the loss of their parents and an uncertain future, their aunt and uncle handled the legal arrangements that would give them a secure home.
What Paige remembers most is the sense of normalcy they preserved during a painful time.
Her childhood could have been defined by the loss of her parents. Instead, she also remembers the two people who stepped forward when she and her brother needed them.
That experience influenced her decision to become an attorney. It also shaped her understanding of family law. When families experience profound changes, the legal process can help establish the arrangements that allow them to move forward.
Today, Paige practices family law with Pacific Northwest Family Law’s Bellevue office, primarily serving clients in King and Pierce counties.
Understanding What Matters to Families
Paige knows from experience that children can be deeply affected by circumstances they did not choose and cannot control. Her aunt and uncle could not undo the loss she and her brother had experienced. They could, however, provide stability, take responsibility for difficult decisions, and give the children a dependable home.
That perspective influences how Paige approaches divorce and parenting disputes.
Parents facing divorce may disagree about property, finances, parenting schedules, or where their children will attend school. Some have spent years building careers and accumulating assets while trying to provide their children with opportunities and security. Now they must make decisions about a future that may look very different from the one they planned.
Paige begins by listening to the client’s full story. She wants to understand what matters most, what the client hopes to accomplish, and what circumstances may complicate the case.
She then helps the client examine the strengths and weaknesses of their position. She believes clients should understand both the opportunities and the obstacles before deciding what to do.
Her responsibility is not to make every decision for them. It is to provide thoughtful advice and advocate for the course they choose.
Paige also places particular importance on communication. She has learned the value of documenting client discussions, keeping track of developments, and making sure important information does not get lost as a case progresses.
She appreciates Pacific Northwest Family Law’s emphasis on transparency with clients. People dealing with a divorce have enough uncertainty in their lives without having to guess what is happening in their legal matter.
From Walla Walla to Bellevue
Paige’s interest in law was also encouraged by her lifelong love of reading and the example of her aunt and uncle.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University in 2022. Wanting to return to the Pacific Northwest, she enrolled at Gonzaga University School of Law.
During law school, Paige gravitated toward family law. She also served as Auction Chair for Gonzaga’s Public Interest Law Project in 2023 and 2024.
Her introduction to Pacific Northwest Family Law came during a summer internship at the firm’s Walla Walla office, where she worked under attorney David Rose.
After graduating from Gonzaga in 2025, she returned to the firm as an attorney in its Bellevue office.
That progression has given Paige the opportunity to continue developing her legal practice alongside attorneys whose work she first encountered as a law student.
Outside the Office
Paige remains an enthusiastic reader and enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest.
An avid runner, she has completed several half marathons. She also enjoys hiking, biking with family and friends, and beachcombing in the San Juan Islands.
After a long workday, she enjoys spending time outside or relaxing with her cat.
The Pacific Northwest is a place Paige deliberately chose to return to after college. It is now where she is building her career and helping other families navigate important changes in their lives.
